Mature Ministries Lunch and Learn

Mature Ministries presents Lunch and Learn with Ken Fischer on October 14.  The event will begin at noon with a box lunch eaten outside (either on the Terrace or under the Canopy on the Hill Street Lawn). At 1:00 p.m., all are then invited into the Sanctuary where Ken will be interviewed by First Pres member and longtime member of the UMS Choral Union Marilyn Meeker.  This will be followed by a Q&A session and a book-signing.  RSVP to the Church Office to order your lunch.

All Church Bonfire!

All Church Bonfire is rescheduled to Sunday November 14!  Families, Members, couples, students, youth, kiddos — ALL are welcome for S’mores!

Meet at White Oaks Farm, 6641 Zeeb Rd Dexter, MI 48130, 6:00–7:00 p.m. Everything will be provided. Come enjoy a nice fall evening with fire, marshmallows, chocolate, and more. There is ample parking. RSVP to the Church Office or to Rev. Rogers so we know to plan for you!

Bread from Around the World

Bread from Around the World - World Communion is Sunday, October 3rd! 

We need volunteers to:  (1) provide different "breads" from around the world (anything that is used for communion in other places!), and (2) be present at Coffee Hour to host different tables of bread to try.

"40: The Gospels" Art Exhibit Reception Friday 6:30-8 p.m.

All are Welcome to enjoy the current First Pres Art Exhibit in the Social Hall through November featuring the artist Joel Schoon-Tanis and his work "40: The Gospels".   The colors the artist uses are bright and beautiful, and tell the story of the gospels in a creative way.  Enjoy!

There will be a reception with Joel on Friday October 8, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Church Social Hall.  Don't miss this opportunity to meet this artist!

Overcoming Depression Event

On Monday, October 4, 2021 at 7:00 PM, we are honored to have Dr. John Greden with us to present a Stephen Ministry-sponsored Continuing Education lecture entitled “Overcoming Clinical Depression: The Future is Now, Your Help is Needed” in Monteith Hall.  This event is open to all of our members and the community. 

Congregational Meeting!

A meeting of the congregation has been called by Session for Sunday, September 19, following the 9:30 a.m. worship service, for the purpose of electing church officers - elders and deacons - for the Class of 2024.  This meeting of the First Pres Congregation will be held simultaneously in the Sanctuary and online, with members able to join online via Zoom and participate.

Youth and Family Cook Out

We invite all Youth and their Families to join us on Friday, September 17th (Sept. 24th - rain date).
