"We Need a Little Christmas"

The Women's Chamber Chorus is directed by Benjamin Gaughran, and accompanied by Joshua Marzan. David VanderMeer directs the Handbell Choir. The Chorus is premiering a work by British composer Samuel Petchey.
You will not want to miss this beautiful holiday concert. Children are free, and a $10 donation is appreciated.
Join us on Sunday, December 12 at 4:00 p.m. for a festive Christmas Concert featuring the Children's Choir, Sanctus Ringers, and Chancel Choir.

Attention all Church Officers!
Current church officers as well as an incoming church officers for next year are invited to attend the annual 2021 Officer Retreat this Saturday, November 13.
All children are invited to participate in our “Come One, Come All'' Christmas Nativity Service for children ages 3 and older. Children who are comfortable reading are encouraged to sign up as scripture readers. There are also non-speaking parts for a multitude of children: Star Bearers, Angels, Shepherds and Magi.
Advent Happening has a new date this year - Saturday, November 20!
Candles, cookies and crafts… oh my! Bring the family and join the fun as we prepare for Christ’s arrival. This year, to allow for physical distancing, we will be spread throughout the whole building. An activity location map will be provided when you arrive.
We’ll have crafts, paper lace banner cutting, cookie decorating (allergy-friendly available), candle making and more on Saturday, November 20, anytime from 10 a.m. until noon!
Hope Clinic needs 500 bags of donated Thanksgiving fixings, side dishes, and staple groceries in order to serve our community this Thanksgiving season. First Pres is signed up to donate 25 bags to assist with this goal. Each bag needs to have the same items in it, and Hope Clinic has requested that the following items be included in each bag:
Ann Arbor Friends Meeting (Quakers) invites you to join us Monday, October 18 bearing peaceful witness to the urgency of the climate crisis. We will gather at 11:30am in the parking lot behind Blake Transit Center (William St), walk together around noon to the branch of Chase Bank in downtown Ann Arbor (Main & Washington) and deliver a letter to the CEO of JP Morgan Chase asking Chase to disinvest from fossil fuel and finance renewable energy businesses instead (Chase is a major funder of Enbridge’s Line 3 and Line 5).
Yale Whiffenpoofs, America's Oldest Collegiate A Cappella Group, will perform on Wednesday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m., in the Sanctuary.
Mature Ministries presents Lunch and Learn with Ken Fischer on October 14. The event will begin at noon with a box lunch eaten outside (either on the Terrace or under the Canopy on the Hill Street Lawn). At 1:00 p.m., all are then invited into the Sanctuary where Ken will be interviewed by First Pres member and longtime member of the UMS Choral Union Marilyn Meeker. This will be followed by a Q&A session and a book-signing. RSVP to the Church Office to order your lunch.
