When shots ring out, God's is the first heart to break. Yet again, our hearts are also rent as much in sadness as in anger. We hold close to the victims, students, and families caught in the gun violence visited upon Michigan State University. Its proximity tilts our heads skywards, our pulse quickens, and our breath catches. We are called to much more than prayer, but it is a faithful place to begin as we stand with those who grieve in East Lansing.
Wednesday morning, we will gather in Monteith Hall at 9:00 a.m. for a short service of silence and prayer. All who feel called are welcome to join for this gathering.
