For two weeks in January, our church home will become the overnight home for up to 20 men who otherwise have housing challenges.
Volunteer opportunities are available!
Morning Driver: transport guests from FPC to the breakfast location.
Evening Host: Welcome guests to FPC, conversation as arises; maintain snacks/beverage table.
Overnight Host: By rotation with 3 other volunteers a 2-hour shift at “awake duty” in Welcome Center; the remainder of the night to sleep in a designated Sunday School room.
Snacks Donor: provide pre-packaged breakfast bars, cracker sandwiches, juice boxes, fruit, bottled water, etc.
Meal/Food Donor: Two volunteers will each provide a dish to serve 10-12 men, a total of 20 guests. Hot dishes must be delivered hot and ready to serve, there will be no access to the oven, dish room, or serving utensils. We suggest you coordinate with your partner volunteer for this meal. Note: one-dish meals are easiest; deliver to church at 7:00 p.m. each evening, hot and in a disposable container with serving utensils; we cannot accept personal dishes.
DONATE: Folks unable to participate these evenings may want to make a donation of warm clothing. Donations are welcome in the Welcome Center at any time through January 15. Clothing items must be new and in original packaging with tags. Those wishing to make a financial donation, please click here.
