Stewardship 2021

We Are The Church Together

There is an old hymn with a refrain which starts out “I am the Church, You are the Church, We are the Church Together.” This sentiment appeared in one of our member’s Lenten devotional in late April. At that time our Stewardship Committee was beginning to work on our Annual Campaign and was talking about how remarkably connected and committed our Church had remained in this challenging time and changing world and the reasons for that connectedness. It seemed to us a natural choice to choose as the theme for this year’s Annual Campaign the sum of those parts, We are the Church Together, in Faith, Love and The Spirit.

There are many examples of what this congregation has been doing and continues to do for others--food rescue, Alpha House, Rotating Shelter, Circles, Habitat for Humanity and many others--they are listed on the next two pages. These ministries, along with the programming within our Church, all need more hands, more listening ears, and more comforting voices, for these all to continue to grow and flourish. It is clear that our Church has a growing commitment to recognize and celebrate those giving of their time, within and outside of our building. Your commitments of time and service are an integral part of what is needed to keep our Church connected and serving the many needs in the communities we serve. At the same time, we need to fund those programs, and the staff and building that foster them.

Please look over the list of areas on our Volunteer form where you can Volunteer and lend your talent and time wherever you’re able. Please also lend your financial support by making a pledge to First Pres with the Pledge Commitment form. Financial support makes all our worship and activities possible, and by making a pledge we inform Session of how much financial support to expect. That information lets Session determine whether we’re able to maintain or even expand what we do.

Make a Pledge for 2021

Every pledge is important to First Pres! No pledge is too large or too small if it’s given in gratitude to God. Every pledge matters!

Our 2021 Goal

$1,700,000 is our 2021 stewardship goal - 10% increase in pledges made and time & talent commitments submitted

Our goal is to achieve a 10% increase in pledges, from 495 in 2020 to 544 in 2021, generating $1,700,000 to support current programming and new initiatives. Along with pledging participation, a corresponding increase in the commitment of your time and talent is also vital to the continuance our mission work.

Every pledge, no matter its size, is important and appreciated
