Team up with family and friends on Saturday, April 16 from 10:00 to 12:30 p.m. in the Social Hall and Front Lawn and create your own Bible story shoe box diorama using those “Crazy Marshmallow Peeps" – chicks and bunnies and Jesus, oh my! An outdoor pizza lunch and children's egg hunt will be offered on the front lawn at 11:30 am.
What is the Peeps and Pizza EGG-stravaganza? Well, do you remember when you were a kid in elementary school and your teacher had you create a shoe box diorama to illustrate some event in history? This is the same idea. Check out the photos to get an idea of what great creations have been done in past years. In addition, our church community will enjoy the beautiful spring weather and celebrate with an Easter egg hunt on church grounds.
Here’s how it works:
- You and members of your family or a group of friends pick your favorite Bible story. There's lots of good options inside your Growing in God's Love story bibles!
- Think about how you might recreate this Bible story in a shoebox diorama using Peeps and any other materials you might like.
- Church will supply the marshmallow Peeps, a variety of shoe boxes, tables to work on, construction paper, scissors, glue, some extra crafting supplies and great refreshments.
Do you want to use a gummy worm? or fabric? or plant material? or your own shoe box? or anything else?.....bring those things along that morning!
Then, on Saturday morning April 16, bring your favorite Bible story and your creative ideas for a fun imaginative morning here at church (maybe some we’ve learned during Lent?)… Suggestions will be available, too.
