Adult Ministry

Welcome to the Adult Education Program!  We invite you to participate in a rich array of Sunday presentations at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m., midweek classes on Wednesday evenings, and self-directed study groups. Please join us for as many programs as you can. - The Adult Education Committe

Sunday Morning Classes

  • "The Bible at 9:30 a.m." ~ The Reverend Ed Koster leads this group. Join us anytime in the Library!
  • "Exploring the Faith" at 11:00 a.m. ~ An Adult Education offering at the 11 a.m. hour. 
  • First Couples (usually meets at 9:30 a.m.) - meets for spiritual growth, learning, fellowship and support for couples and individuals.

Also, join us on Wednesday@First in the fall from September through November and in the winter from January to March. Enjoy dinner and fellowship, followed by a 30-minute worship service.

In addition to the classes on Sunday mornings and the classes offered at Wednesday@First, First Pres has several other groups that meet periodically. These are also listed after the Sunday morning classes on our Sunday Classes page.  Join us at any time!

Women's Bible Study

A new women’s bible study group will begin on Tuesday, April 5, 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. in the Curtis Room. The seven week class will journey through the Psalms of Ascent using studies written by Beth Moore. The study uses a workbook including daily studies which will be discussed each week as well as DVD presentations. Workbooks will be available for purchase ($20) on April 5. Men's Group

A Men's Group meets regularly for fellowship and study, on the first, third, and fifth Fridays in the Founders Room at noon. Bring a brown bag lunch! Please contact the church at 734-662-4466 or for more information.

Pray More in the New Year!

Get the "Daily Prayer" app and use your smartphone to pray daily. Presbyterians have developed "Daily Prayer" – a smartphone app for daily prayer. The "Daily Prayer" app provides simple, yet rich, devotional resources for morning, midday, evening, and close of day. Each service includes psalms and readings from the confessions. Other elements include opening and closing words, biblical songs, a thanksgiving for light, and a prayer of confession. The app is available in iPhone and Android versions and is $2.99.
