Christmas Hymn Festival and Reception

Sunday, December 17, 2017
3:00 p.m.

Join in the Singing at the Hymn Festival - Tom Granum will lead our congregation in singing Christmas carols and hymns from our wonderful Schoenstein pipe organ. The Chancel Choir, Youth Choir, and orchestra will provide additional leadership and present several carol-based selections. Some carols will be preceded with exciting introductions or end with exhilarating soprano descants. Others will be followed by an organ reflection on what was sung, and many will be sung "straight" with beautiful, unadorned congregational singing. Most of the carols will be familiar, but we will also include several that may not be known to all. Readings will provide the framework of the festival. This carol festival is an excellent time to invite friends and family, including those who don't regularly worship with us, to join you and your First Pres family in an enjoyable Christmas celebration.

Wander Our Strolling Reception - Following the festival in the sanctuary, please join us for a strolling reception in our beautiful church building – refreshments served in different parts of the building – and the opportunity to mingle with friends, old and new. Enjoy wonderful treats and view the church’s beautiful and extensive collection of crèches from around the world.

Families Are Welcome - This is a wonderful event meant for the whole family. There will be a craft for children (and adults) to make, the showing of a classic Christmas movie in the French Room/ Library to enjoy, and wonderful treats to nosh on!
