Mature Ministries Lunch and Learn

Thursday, December 12, 2019

Join us on Thursday, December 12 at Noon, Social Hall for the Mature Ministries Lunch and Learn. Dr. Tom Sheehab will talk about “Innovations in Health Care: Why do Physicians Still Have Waiting Rooms?” Dr. Shehab spent 12 years as a practicing physician specializing in gastroenterology. He earned his M.D. from Wayne State University, performing his residency, chief residency, and fellowship training at the University of Michigan; he also earned his Master’s in Medical Management from the Heinz School of Management at Carnegie Mellon University. During his time as a physician, Dr. Shehab brought a new understanding to physicians doing things because “that is how it has always been done” vs. embracing innovations used in many other businesses. In 2014, Dr. Shehab began a “new” career with Arboretum Ventures, a leading healthcare venture capital firm where he now serves as Managing Director. We will hear his story of transitioning from clinical medical practice to venture capitalist specializing in advancing innovation in health care. Lunch is $5. Please sign up in the Church Office, or contact Rev. Rogers at mrogers@firstpresbyterian.org for more information.
