First Forum: Constructive Theology: Embracing the Other

Sunday, September 29, 2019

Join us for First Forum: Constructive Theology: "Embracing the Other: Love’s Transformative Spirit" in the Curtis and Founders Rooms on Sunday, September 29 at 12:15 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Grace Ji-Sun Kim, Earlham School of Religion, Earlham, IN. Dr. Kim is an innovative, faithful, Asian feminist perspective on God’s Spirit in the world today.

We live in a time of great racial strife and global conflict. How do we work toward healing, reconciliation, and justice among all people, regardless of race or gender? In this First Pres Forum, Embracing the Other, Grace Ji-Sun Kim demonstrates that such change is possible only through God’s Spirit. Working from a feminist Asian perspective, Kim develops a constructive theology that works toward gender and racial-ethnic justice. Through the power of Spirit God, Kim says, our brokenness is healed and we can truly love and embrace the other. A light lunch will be served ($5).
