Are You Called to be a Stephen Minister?

Stephen Ministry of Care May Be Calling You….A consortium of churches in Washtenaw County has come together to offer training to those who feel called to serve as a Stephen Minister and are approved by their individual congregations. Classes will be held on Thursday nights from January to May at St. Francis Catholic Church. First Pres’ Stephen Ministry Leader Team will be helping to teach and lead the candidates for Stephen Minister if any of our members take part. To become a commissioned Stephen Minister, 50 hours of training is required, and a commitment to attend supervision and continuing education meetings while actively serving. It is a deeply meaningful ministry of lay pastoral care. While God is the cure-giver, Stephen Ministers are the caregivers. If you are interested in receiving this training, contact Rev. Rogers to complete an application and interview, or learn more. Contact Rev. Rogers at mrogers@firstpresbyterian.org by November 24.
