One of the ways J.S. Bach lived out his faith was by composing short musical selections based on the popular choral tunes of the day. He used these choral preludes to introduce the hymns used in worship. On Sunday, November 30, Daniel Forger will perform several of the most striking of these preludes, and discuss how Bach musically paints a backdrop to the choral text, including babbling brooks, beating hearts, and the tablets containing the Ten Commandments. This session will be held in Monteith Hall at 11:00 a.m.
