The church has ordered two dozen extra books of Songs in Waiting for the All-Church Advent Study for those who missed the book order deadline. The study groups will start meeting between November 29 and December 3, depending on the day of the week the group meets.

Advent is not far away. All are invited and encouraged to participate in our 2009 all-church Advent study based on Songs in Waiting: Spiritual Reflections on Christ's Birth, by Paul-Gordon Chandler. In addition to our small group study the Rev. Larry Farris will preach on the four texts on the Sundays in Advent. Chandler's book reflects on the four songs in the Gospel of Luke: the Song of Mary (Magnificat), the Song of Zechariah (Benedictus), the Song of the Angels to the Shephers (Gloria), and the Song of Simeon (Nunc Dimittis).
