Self-Study

Self-study meeting

The last Self-Study meeting will be held Sunday afternoon, November 1, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Monteith Hall. The Self-Study Committee hopes through these groups to gain guidance from the congregation on who the church is called to be, and what it is being called to do. Please come and be part of the group and we look ahead to calling a new pastor.

Two more self-study meetings

The first step in calling a new pastor is to make a self-study of our church.  The Self-Study Committee is guiding the congregation through the process of exploring who God is calling us to become and what God is calling us to do. To do this, the Committee has organized a series of meetings of members of the congregation to study areas of concern and the ministry of the church.

A guide for our self-study

In June, our Session formed a committee to lead the congregation in a self-study that will form the basis for our church's search for a new head pastor. The goal is to compose a document that defines the congregation and describes a sense of direction for the next 5 to 10 years. The committee plans to follow, as a guideline, a document prepared by the Rev Phillip Reed of the Presbytery of Detroit Congregational Life Team, "What Makes a Terrific Congregational Self-Study?"
