Care & Compassion Learning: Listening for Life
The Listening for Life presentation entitled Listening Sets the Bruised Heart Free will bring to life the value of listening, the three levels of listening: the person being listened to, the internal thoughts and feelings of the listener, and the voice of the Holy Spirit during or after the listening encounter. Vignettes will be used as examples of what listening entails and how the right kind of listening will bring life, hope, and healing to the one who speaks, setting the bruised heart free.

Meet the Residents
One of the distinct features of First Presbyterian Church is our role as a teaching and learning congregation with a Resident Ministry Program. Since 2001, our congregation has learned from and with 33 Resident Ministers who now serve in a variety of ministry capacities around the country. During their two years, Residents teach and preach, administer sacraments and offer pastoral care, innovate new worshipping forms, and serve our community in meaningful ways.
