Master Plan Executive Summary

The facilities Master Plan is the first of five stages of architectural work to translate the programmatic vision into realistic facility improvements to support the vision. The Master Plan is the result of many months of interaction between the architect, Quinn Evans of Ann Arbor, and the Planning Group of the Facilities Implementation Group, representing Session and the congregation.

The Master Plan is a road map for potential facility modifications and expansions that provides architecturally sound concepts, not finished designs. It does not limit future changes that will be necessitated by engineering studies, or future budget considerations. The Master Plan does not include a financing plan or time line for implementation.

As presented, the Master Plan includes five "scope packages", or construction packages, which in total include major improvements to every part of the present building, as well as considering a significant expansion of space to support the programmatic needs to grow ministries deeper and wider in future years. If the entire Master Plan were to be implemented, it would roughly double the floor space of our present building. In addition, the Master Plan includes consideration of traffic flow throughout the property and additional parking spaces on the Hill Street lot.
