Saturday, February 16th 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Social HallJoin us in tasting one or all eight of our homemade soups, fresh salad, bread, drinks and cookies for dessert. Tickets are $10 per individual, or $30 per family, with to-go soup boxes extra. All proceeds from this delicious dinner go toward our mission projects in Dumaguete, Philippines. There will be slides from our most recent trip (January 2013). Please come to this delightful, ongoing tradition and bring your friends and neighbors to enjoy the evening together!

Keynote Speakers: Dr. Cornell West and Rev. James Forbes
Join us for this First Pres-sponsored event on Saturday, February 16, 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Michigan Theater. This gathering brings together the community, academic, and faith-based communities to discuss the profound challenges of our society, including social inequality, mass incarceration, sustainable development, climate change, and race dynamics. In addition to our keynote speakers, there will be various national and community leaders including Rev. Selma Massey, Bob King, Patricia Gurin, Deborah Labelle, Ahmad Rahman, Mary Summers, and student activists.

“The Role of Nursing in our New World of Health Care” will be presented by Lynn Klima, MSN, RN at the nurses gathering on Saturday, February 9, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the Lewis Room. Her specialty is patients with chronic diseases and helping them navigate within our complex health care system. She is currently a Master Trainer for the demonstration project, awarded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, to the Michigan Department of Community Health.
Coffee, Pastries, and conversation from 10 - 10:30 a.m. Presentation will follow fellowship time. All are welcome!
