Even if you are out of town you can still join the church for worship by listening to the service over the internet. WAAM, the radio station which broadcasts our worship service at 11 am on Sunday morning, now streams the worship service over the internet at the same time. To listen, go to WAAM's website on Sundays at 11 am Eastern time.

We are pleased to announce that the Rev. Jim Monnett will be our new Director of Youth Ministry.
Jim is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Hope College. He received his basic seminary degree at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and is currently at work on a Doctor of Ministry Degree at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He has been ordained in the Presbyterian Church and has 14 years of experience in the area of youth ministry, to which he feels called. Most recently, he served for four years as interim associate pastor at Grosse Pointe Memorial Presbyterian Church, where he led the entire children, youth, and adult Christian Education programs.
Jim is married and has one child. His wife, Karin, is a graduate of the UM School of Social Work, and the two of them used to worship at First Presbyterian when Jim traveled from Chicago to visit his wife in Ann Arbor, so they already know a little of the church and community. Please welcome Jim as the newest addition to our church staff!

Promises, our fellowship group for specially-abled adults, will meet on the fourth Sunday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in Monteith Hall, starting this fall.
Promises was formed a year ago to help our church fulfill our baptismal vows topeople of all abilities and challenges. We have five church members who participate
and more are welcome. There will be an exception to the regular schedule in October, when we will be visited on Sunday, October 19, by Common Chord, a special chime group for those with developmental limitations. Several of our Promises members play in Common Chord, and this awe-inspiring group will lead the music at our 5:45 worship service that day. As always, following worship, we either have dinner at the church donated by a church member, or we travel together to nearby Pizza House.
We look forward to a great fall. Mark your calendar for these dates: 9/28,10/19, 11/23, and 12/28. Thanks to those who help our group to manage life, faith and friendship! Special thanks to Kathy Wirstrom, Carole Hendrickson, Marc Buchanan, Jana Reister, and Aaron Janklow for lending support to our wonderful group. - Rev. Melissa Anne Rogers
