As part of our June 2 celebration of Communion at the 9:30 service, the Chancel Choir, soloists, and Chamber Orchestra will include the music of Franz Schubert’s “Mass in G.” The five movements, sung in Latin, are texts familiar to most Presbyterian worshipers: Kyrie eleison (“Lord, have mercy”), Gloria, Sanctus (“Holy, Holy”), the Nicene Creed, and Agnus Dei (“Lamb of God”). The church picnic will follow the 9:30 a.m. service.

Sunday, May 19 - The Detroit Presbytery is providing tomato plants to take home, plant, lovingly tend and then share their harvest in late summer with those in need. Our fifth graders will help with this project as part of the Fifth Grade Mission Milestone. They will put planting instructions on the tomato pots, hand out plants to church members between the morning services, and tend a small tomato garden plot here at church. On a September Sunday, all will be invited to bring their bounty to church to be donated to Food Gathers. Over the last two years, we have donated more than 150 pounds of fresh produce each year to Food Gathers. Let's set a new record in 2013!
