Cancer Prayer Support Group Second Thursdays, 6:00-7:30 p.m., St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. The group will meet in the new offices of Pastoral Care located next to the new chapel. This group will focus on our faith and how it helps us cope with all the consequences of cancer. The group will always meet on the second Thursday of the month. Neighborhood Senior Services
Helps county residents age 60 & over stay in their own homes. Volunteers provide seniors with home maintenance and repair, safety assessments and device installation, medical transportation and accompaniment, resource coordination and advocacy, and substance abuse prevention. Turner Senior Resource Center (U-M Health System)
Aims to improve the quality of life for older adults and their families. Programs and activities include workshops and support groups on topics such as health care, nutrition, memory improvement, disease prevention, fitness, creative writing, computer instruction, successful aging, caregiving for aging relatives, and more. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute offers continuing education through lectures, courses, study and writing groups, and trips for age 50 & over. The Silver Club Memory Loss programs are designed to meet the needs of older adults with memory loss and their families. Gallery 55+ displays the art of those age 55 & over.
