Chrismon Tree (Monteith Hall)

Chrismon tree

Each Advent a Christmas a tree is decorated in Monteith Hall with Chrismons made in 1986 and 1987 by women of the congregation under the direction of Pearl Summers.  Each Chrismon is a Christian symbol cut out of white Styrofoam and decorated with pearls and gold beads.  Besides the over 100  gold and white Chrismons, the tree is decorated solely with tiny white lights.

The white paraments with the plain gold cross hanging from the pulpit lectern and the Bible bookmark were woven by Lois Bryant of cotton and metallic yarn.  They were commissioned by David Krehbiel's children in honor of his retirement in 2005.
