Presbyterian Women

All women of the church are considered members of Presbyterian Women and are cordially invited to participate in any or all of our activities.

MONTHLY GATHERINGS

Presbyterian Women gather on the third Wednesday of each month, unless otherwise noted. The general monthly schedule includes Bible study in Monteith Hall from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.; the featured program for the month in Monteith Hall from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.; and lunch in the Social Hall from noon to 1:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend any portion of the programs. The speaker of the month and other details are announced in the front page news feed on this web site, as well as in our newsletter and Sunday bulletin.

CIRCLES OF PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN

Horizons Circle - This circle meets for fellowship, refreshments, and a program on the second Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m., September through May, in members' homes. Programs are varied and focus on becoming more aware of ministries of mission and service in the local and wider church (such as reports on mission trips; community concerns; background of hymns) and opportunities to grow in faith and fellowship. Women's Evening Bible Study (WEBS) - Meetings are held the first Monday of the month, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., October through June, in the Curtis Room, and follow the Horizons Bible Study, Journeys through Revelation: Apocalyptic Hope for Today. Women's Reading Group - This group meets the second Wednesday of the month, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. in members' homes. Locations are announced in the newsletter and bulletin, and on our blog. Contact Meredyth Jones, mgmjones@umich.edu.

Body and Soul - This is a congenial, supportive gathering of women who meet for low-impact aerobic exercise, simple liturgical dance movement and prayer every Monday, 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. in the Curtis Room. ADDITIONAL GROUPS FOR WOMEN

Mothers' Morning - Designed for young mothers, this group meets at the church in the Youth Room on the second Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m., September through May, providing opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, prayer, and breakfast. Knit Night - All knitters, experienced or inexperienced, are welcome. Meetings are on the second Friday of the month, 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. in the Curtis Room, September-May. This group provides shawls for shut-ins and baby blankets for new babies at First Presbyterian, and for Mott Hospital. New knitters are welcome to come and learn from experienced members, working from simple patters. Devotions and tea provided. Contact Georgia Goodman, ggoodman@juno.com.

Moms' Bible Study - This group meets September-May on the second and fourth Fridays, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. in the French Room/Library for coffee and Bible Study. A Lilly Minister-in-Residence leads this group of mothers with children of all ages who gather for Bible study and application to life Books of the Bible for study are chosen by the group along with the facilitator.
