Other Windows in the Church Building

Grisaille Glass Window
When the church was constructed in 1937, windows made of grisaille glass were installed in the nave until it would be possible to raise the funds to replace them with stained glass. The window (pictured on page 6) located on the stairway between the 2nd and 3rd floors by the door opening to Washtenaw, is made of some of the glass saved from the nave when the current windows were installed. The inscription below the window reads:
“Leaded antique glass from original sanctuary window placed here in honor of A.K. and Angelyn Stevens by their children. Dedicated in their presence on their last day, 9/30/84.”
That evening A.K. and Angelyn, who had been very active in the church and were well along in years, were killed in an automobile accident.
Monteith Hall
There is a rose window in Monteith Hall with a picture of two roses. It was given anonymously to the church on Mothers’ Day, in about 2000 or 2001, and the roses are in honor of the mothers of the donors.
Lewis Room
There are two small windows in the doors to the Lewis Room showing Ruth, of the book of Ruth, on the left, and Dorcas, also known as Tabitha, “a doer of good deeds,” on the right.
