Mendelssohn's Elijah to Be Performed May 2

ElijahMendelssohn's great oratorio, Elijah, will be presented by the Chancel Choir, soloists, and orchestra in our sanctuary on May 2 at 1:00 p.m. (Note the early time.) This powerful work captures all of the humanity and fearsomeness of the prophet Elijah, as Mendelssohn strove so single-mindedly to do.  The books of Kings I and II tell the dramatic story presented in the oratorio. The music is poignant and moving, personal and intimate, with many well-known choruses and solos. The concert is free, though a $10 donation to help defray expenses is encouraged.
