High School Ministry

Munch & Mingle & Sunday School will return on January 8 at 9:30 a.m.  with Marc Buchanan.  RJ will return the following week to continue as the regular teacher.  We will be tackling the Book of Jeremiah this semester, beginning Jan. 15.

 Youth Room is renovated!   New color scheme and a new wood laminate floor.  Thank you to Mike Wright and Bob Hockett for all their hard work.

Keystones   had a great Christmas party this week with 23 students at the King's home.  Keystones returns January 15.  Student Leadership Team meets Jan 15, 11 a.m.  The Leader Team is Deb Hutton, Marc Buchanan, Cheryl Moy and RJ.  Here is the upcoming:

 Christmas Eve - 3, 5, 7:30 and 11 p.m.  A Big Thank you to Lillian Scheske, Dallas Colligan, Karl Gage, Erin Tichenor, Josh King, Alyssa Scheske, Michael Doa, and Kelsey King for serving as Acolytes in the processionals.

Florida Mission Trip, Jan 1-8, 2012

UM/MSU Hockey at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Feb. 11, 3 p.m. $22

Alma Youth Mix, March 9-11, $60, Register by Jan. 30 and get a free hockey ticket.

New Mexico Mission Trip, June 17-25 - $500 plus $270 fundraising.  We will be renovating homes and doing a Vacation Bible School for immigrant children.  This is a joint trip with First, Boise, Idaho.  Trip has 21 students and closes Jan. 30.  Talk to RJ to get all the details.  First timers on high school mission trips may apply on wufoo by clicking the link below.

High School Ministry is led by Rev. Dr. Jim Monnett (RJ), the Director of Youth Ministry, jmonnett@firstpresbyterian.org. I am an ordained Presbyterian Church USA pastor with over 10 years of youth ministry experience (and 15 years as a pastor).  I recently received my Doctor of Ministry in pastoral theology from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. My project work was in training adult lay leaders for effective youth mission trips.
