"Christmas Eve" by Suzanne Beutler

Christmas Eve Triptych

Each Christmas Eve since she started singing in the choir Sue was taken by the way the lighted candles at the close of the service made the congregation's faces glow, especially in the past when the church was totally dark except for the candles. After Sue retired and had completed an art degree at the University of Michigan, she finally had time to paint the scene. Sue said she worked on this painting over four or five years.  It was completed and installed about 2007.  The painting was given to the church by an anonymous donor.  Sue's website is www.suzannebeutler.com.

This sculpture was given in memory of Fannie Bell Malin, a former choir member, by Sue Beutler about 1995.  The sculpture was actually cast sometime earlier.
