Each year, during the Lent season, the children of our congregation participate in a “giving” project.  This year they will join with the entire congregation in contributing to our annual gift to One Great Hour of Sharing. On Sunday, March 14, the children will receive a “fish” bank in their Sunday School classroom and a Sharing Calendar with suggestions for coins they might put in their banks during Lent. The Sunday School classes will also follow the “sheep path” on the 400 level to discover ways that they can take up Jesus’ commandment ”Do you love me? Feed my sheep” (John 21:15-17). On Palm Sunday, March 28, the children should return their coin-filled fish banks to their Sunday School classroom.  Their gifts will then be forwarded on to One Great Hour of Sharing.
