In April, 2008, over 30 members of First Presbyterian attended a retreat intended to focus on issues related to the mission efforts at First Pres. The group explored where we are as a church in our mission program and where we want to be in the near future.

As a result of the discussions, an Ad Hoc Mission Committee was formed to map out an action plan for how mission is and should be incorporated in our church's identity as a sent people of God. It was clear at the retreat and during the ad hoc mission committee meetings that mission cannot be limited to "programs" in the church, but that it is our identity as a church.

The Ad Hoc Mission Committee has met throughout the summer to identify goals and concrete plans for the coming year. The action plan will be presented to retreat attendees and other interested members of the church on Sunday, October 12 at 4:30 p.m. in the Vance Room. The duration of the meeting will be limited to one hour, so as not to conflict with the 5:45 service. If you wish to attend, please RSVP to sjeffers@mml.org.
