Come to the blessing of the backpacks

Our time in worship on Sunday, September 6, will feature a "Blessing of the Backpacks." School's beginning is just around the corner, and Interim Pastor Larry Farris asks that all children and middle school youth of the congregation bring their school backpacks with them to worship at either the 9:30 or 11:00 a.m. service to get those backpacks blessed! Don't be shy, don't be embarrassed. This is a special moment to remember that Jesus is with us wherever we go and whatever we do, even school!

Family Playdate

Marketplace 27-28 AD - Christ's Chosen

Summer Vacation Bible School returns Tuesday through Thursday, June 16-18, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on the church grounds. "Marketplace 27-28 AD - Christ’s Chosen," our VBS program for children kindergarten complete through fifth grade, teaches the stories of Jesus and what life was like during his time. Children will enjoy visiting the storyteller, synagogue school, watching dramas, and of course, making the crafts available at the marketplace. This program is free and friends are welcome! Seeking Young Musicians

On Sunday, April 26, First Presbyterian will hold its first annual Young People's Concert at 12:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Nurturing young musical talent has always been important to the music ministry at First Presbyterian Church. Our first, hopefully annual Young People's Concert has been designed to showcase the talents of First Presbyterian's budding musicians, ages 8-18. We welcome a wide variety of musical instruments and disciplines, including pianists, vocalists, string and wind players, and jazz musicians.

Hunt for Easter Eggs -- Not in the snow!

Join us for our sixth annual indoor Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 11, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. There will be a separate egg hunt for preschoolers, lower elementary, and upper elementary ages. We'll start out in the Social Hall with pre-hunt activities, then the hunt, then return for more crafts and activities. It should be fun for all, and a good time to invite a friend. Questions? Call Debbie MacVey, 662-4466, or email her at dmacvey@firstpresbyterian.org.
